Thanks for dropping by my personal page - you'll find here a little bit about who I am and what I do...

My name is Grant Ballard-Tremeer - just call me Grant. I'm director of a sustainable energy consulting company called Eco Ltd based in London, UK. See the company page for more details.

I work on sustainable energy projects in developing countries and in Central and Eastern Europe. I have over 10 years experience in the field of sustainable energy. My specialisations are in energy efficiency, biomass energy, improved cookstoves and household smoke monitoring. I have a wide experience in developing and evaluating sustainable energy projects throughout the world.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer, and hold a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa - it focused on the measurement of cookstove efficiency and measurement of cookstove emissions of improved cooking devices. You can read my thesis here.

I also have a Masters in Environmental Management from the University of Amsterdam.

I am also a co-ordinator of the HEDON Household Energy Network. Specialisations are in project development, monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management
