Who am I

I am currently working in Afghanistan for the German Development Service (DED) in the GTZ Energy Project. I focus on Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency, especially in rural areas. My profession is mechanical engineer with a MSc in Technology and Resources Management in developing countries. In Afghanistan, we deal with solar cookers, small PV- systems, solar water and space heating, wind energy, solar pumping and energy saving in households. Besides, we have build 3 small hydro power stations in the Badakhshan province.

Household energy experience

I have worked for GTZ in short time assignments in Sierra Leone and Rwanda. In SL I focused on M&E of community development projects, some dealing with household energy issues like improved cook stoves. In Ruanda, i developed a program for environmental management, consisting of projects for improved cook stoves, rainwater harvesting, biogas for lighting&cooking, solar pumping and solar PV. In Brazil, I worked in the University of Fortaleza as a researcher in solar water heating for households.
