The Bellerive Foundation is best known for its success in developing and disseminating institutional fuel-saving cooking systems. In Kenya it supplies over 50% of the institutional stove market. During its seven years of administering various fuel-saving programmes in that country, the emphasis has been on institutional cooking because institutions, particularly schools are the single largest purchasers of fuelwood, savings can be realised quickly and stoves will pay for themselves in a short period of time...
