[top] [end]Who am I

I am a retired manufacturing manager and strategic planner living in Mississippi USA.

Each summer I volunteer with SIFAT (www.sifat.org Servants In Faith And Technology) and teach Micro-Enterprise Development to Christian community leaders from Pakistan, Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Philippines, Cameroon and other developing countries. Since its founding in 1979, SIFAT has trained community leaders from 76 countries around the globe. The Micro-Enterprise sessions helps the students identify local needs and shows how to explore local opportunities and assets to create small enterprises in their countries. These leaders return home from the Alabama training center ready to teach their own people about clean water, sanitation, health, agriculture, enterprise and community development. The focus of the micro-enterprise curriculum is on supplying the needs of poor people. This Micro-Enterprise curriculum covers selling food, growing food, processing food, processing fuel for cooking, supplying clean water and other items that can provide goods and services in a cost effect manner.

I have demonstrated many ideas and techniques that can be used in the development of micro-enterprises. Ideas such as rocket stoves, charcoal briquette making, PVC water pumps, solar collectors, etc. have been made and used in “show and tell”. Presently, I am collecting development documents for inclusion into the extensive 15 CD-ROM development library given to each student.
