I am an energy consultant specialising in household energy, involved in the field of indoor air pollution monitoring and alleviation for the last seven years. I am currently managing an international project on smoke alleviation (Kenya, Nepal, Sudan) supported by the UK government Department for International Development. This project, using participatory approaches, is seeking to identify means to overcome the barriers which prevent people from accessing clean technologies of choice. I have been involved in all aspects of this work: training staff for air quality measurement; developing protocols, data input and analysis and overall project management.

Recently I have done work for Eco Ltd, and am involved with the development of the HEDON network.

Until June 2006, I was responsible for the household energy journal Boiling Point, which is distributed to over 2000 addresses – the majority of whom are in the South.

I have contributed a few articles to the Knowledge Base, including:
