A renewable energy researcher associated with The Energy and Resources Institute, India for last nine years, I'm Post Graduate in Physics and PG diploma in Non-conventional Energy Technology. I possesses extensive job experience in the energy and development sector especially working in the rural areas of India and Bhutan. My key expertise relates to renewable energy technologies (RETs), resource assessment & energy planning, biomass stoves & gasification, decentralized distributed generation (DDG) and monitoring & impact evaluation of micro energy projects. I have experience in projects executed in India, Bhutan and Uganda and is currently involved in projects related to development of energy plan (Integrated Energy Management Master Plan for Bhutan); development of pilot gasification activities in Uganda, development and evaluation of franchise system in electricity distribution sector in India; dissemination of renewable & energy efficient technologies and Village Energy Security Projects in India. Major projects executed during the last five years includes biomass assessment for power generation under National Biomass Resource Assessment Program; assessment of gasifier systems for electrical and thermal applications; design and field testing of gasifier based systems; design, implementation and evaluation of RETs and energy planning projects. Also coordinated several workshops & training programmes on RETs, DDG and biomass gasification.

I have contributed 12 technical papers in journals, conference proceedings and books and has written about 20 invited and feature articles for various newspapers and publications. Also participated in various national and international conferences and workshops and is also life member of a number of professional and academic organizations (Solar Energy Society of India, Indian Science Congress Association and Asia Pacific Mountain).
