My current profile here includes Identification of technologies and Design, manufacture and dissemination of biomass stoves in the villages we are involved in. Academically I have completed my batchelors degree in Mechanical engineering form Manipal (MAHE). Since then I have been working on various environmental issues, be it environmental awareness in school children, tree plantation drives or working hands on clean technologies. I am very passionate in this area (clean tech.) and am continually on the lookout to improve upon my knowledge.[top] [end]Household energy experienceFor the last two years I have been involved in working hands on Biomass stoves (TLUD), ethanol stoves, ethanol lanterns.Currently our R.E team in WOTR is looking at meeting the household energy requirements in our villages. Our initiatives include dissemination of LED home lighting systems, Biomass stoves (designed and manufactured inhouse) and biogas (Deen Bandhu model) for cooking and lighting purposes. Our experience here shows that there is a huge demand for these products and hence a pressing need to improve these products with respect to both cost and usability.
