How to make good pagenamesA good pagename consists of two or more words. Spaces and capital letters are ignored so 'My Special Page' and 'my special page' or even 'mY sPeCiAl PaGe' all refer to the same page! See the technical note here. When you type a pagename between [[ and ]] in any page, you establish a hyperlink. It's as easy as that. [top] [end]HintsIt is recommended to create topics with singular names. Plural pagenames are automatically linked to the singular page, but a plural pagename is not linked from the singular name. So for example, improved stove and improved stoves automatically point to the same pagename since 'improved stove' was originally defined in the singular.Insert pagenames wherever you can. Rich linking will help to make the forum successful. Be specific. All pagenames share one name space. For example, instead of 'Improved Stove Project' write 'Eco Stove Project Kerala' because other pages might also have an 'Improved Stove Project'. Sometimes you have to be creative to find a good pagename. You can specify any pagename label by using the normal [[ and ]] format but separating the alternative text with the 'pipe' symbol, like this: [[help page|take a look at the help page]] will make a 'help page' link that looks like 'take a look at the help page'. | |
