Liz Bates, after 9 years, Says Goodbye to Boiling Point, Which Itself Is Moving to HEDON

While her absence will no doubt be felt, Boiling Point will continue to bring its audience the highest levels of quality, relevance, and integrity from its new home.

After nine years as editor of Boiling Point, Liz Bates has stepped down to pursue independent work on household energy issues, currently on alleviation of indoor air pollution. Just as Liz gave thanks, in her last edition as editor, to all her many supporters - Practical Action for its direct support and funding, GTZ for its contribution of both content and funding, the many other organizations which part-funded individual editions, the theme editors who ensured quality and accuracy, and all who provided material to create such a useful resource – there is no question the community would like to thank Liz, whose devotion brought it all together into a highly useful and relevant journal arriving on our doorsteps twice a year. Liz, from the HEDON community, a BIG THANKS!

Fortunately, there is some good news in all of this. Boiling Point is now formally joining HEDON, under the co-ordination of Eco Ltd, and in collaboration with both Practical Action and GTZ. In the future, the print version of Boiling Point will not only continue to deliver the same quality of household energy information and news, but will by supplemented by the following additional features:

• An electronic version of the journal distributed to those who prefer this format;
• An online interactive version of Boiling Point within the HEDON Knowledge Base, allowing everyone to make comments and suggestions on the articles;
• Linking of the articles to the author's profiles and other relevant documents and projects on HEDON; and
• For those without web access, a section in the subsequent issue of Boiling Point for comments, feedback and news from the household energy community.
