Two publications on indoor air pollution, recently finalized by WHO's Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Development, have now been published

Indoor air pollution from solid fuels and risk of low birth weight and still birth This publication reports on a symposium held at the Annual Conference of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) in Johannesburg in September 2005. The findings are complemented by a PubMed search of the link between indoor air pollution from solid fuel use and low birth weight and perinatal mortality.

Indoor air pollution and lower respiratory tract infections in children This publication reports on a symposium and workshop held at the International Society of Environmental Epidemiology, Paris, 4 September 2006. It presents preliminary results of a randomized intervention trial in Guatemala and discusses the implications for policy, advocacy and future research.
