REEEP 8th call for proposals
REEEP has opened its 8th programme cycle with a call for proposed clean energy projects targeting Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and South Africa. Whilst the first phase of submissions by private entities and NGOs has closed, the call is still open until 27 May 2011 to financial institutions and government agencies to submit proposals for projects to REEEP.

REEEP speaks at G20 Clean Energy Ministerial
Dr. Marianne Osterkorn, REEEP’s Director General, spoke at a high-level roundtable discussion, "Regulatory Strategies to Accelerate Utility-Scale Energy Efficiency" at the G20 Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) meeting on 6th April in Abu Dhabi.

ClimateTechWiki – help us build this new online platform for technologies for mitigation and adaptation
REEEP and its partners (UNDP, UNEP Risoe, the Government of the Netherlands, the Joint Implementation Network) are pleased to release an online platform which will support innovation and technology transfer: http://ClimateTechWiki.org. ClimateTechWiki is a work in progress and we are looking for input to enhance this tool, in particular in the areas of additional informational needs that could be met by ClimateTechWiki, additional functions that ClimateTechWiki might fulfil, potential new user groups for the website and potential partners who would be interested in contributing to this online platform.

Utilities take on energy efficiency
In a recent interview with SERN, Walt Patterson of Chatham House talked about how, since the adoption of metering systems at the beginning of the 20th century, electricity utilities have not encouraged customers to adopt high efficiency load technologies because they want to increase sales of electricity

Documentary series to showcase Pacific renewable energy experiences
The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) has commissioned a documentary series to showcase the experiences of 11 Pacific island countries in their efforts to achieve their renewable energy targets or goals. Available for viewing in August 2011, the documentary series will feature the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
