NETHERLANDS - The third annual Sustainable Biofuels Awards will be held as part of the gala evening on day two of the World Biofuels Markets Congress and Exhibition in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Each award is a recognition of achievement and innovation from industry peers, and the award ceremony itself is unique in bringing together the entire value chain to celebrate the driving forces behind bioenergy development.

The ceremony is free to attend for all attendees of the 6th annual World Biofuels Markets Congress and Exhibition.

The Sustainable Biofuels Awards show the benefits companies have brought to the biofuels industry.

The independent Judging Panel will vote on who they consider to provide the greatest sustainability benefits as measured by GHG savings, environmental impact and further societal benefits of the operations or technology of the nominees.

2011 Award Categories are:
  • Sustainable Bioethanol Award for a distributor or producer
  • Sustainable Biodiesel Award for a distributor or producer
  • Sustainable Biofuels Technology Award for a technology supplier improving the efficiency and sustainability of biofuels production
  • Green Shoots Award award for the most exciting innovation in next generation development - sponsored by Pangea
  • Biofuels Adoption Award for a commercial, municipal fleet or new user
  • Best Algae Innovation for developing innovative techniques, processes or sources of algae
  • Best Biofuels EPC Innovation for a technology supplier, plant owner or plant engineer or EPC company
  • Biofuels Leadership Award award an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the biofuels industry.
