A range of different tools exist for assessing conflict-affected environments (CAE), but few are focused on identifying the challenges and opportunities for private sector development (PSD) programming. The Committee's publication entitled "Private Sector Development in Conflict-Affected Environments - Key Resources for Practitioners
reviews the different tools available, and considers how they might be adapted for PSD.

The publication provides four main areas of guidance: it gives an overview of what PSD programming should seek to achieve in CAEs; offers resources to help
practitioners to better understand the nature of the conflict risk relevant to the countries where they operate; describes a range of assessment tools for PSD programming and how they can be applied in CAEs; and outlines a monitoring and evaluation framework based on the DCED Standard for Results Measurement.
