CSTM — Twente Centre for Studies of Technology and Sustainable Development at the University of Twente, together with the International Division of Social & Economic Sciences of the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), have been offering international training workshops on energy and environment since 1983. Since 2005 the focus has been on proposal writing and financing schemes for projects related to energy, environment and climate change which could be submitted under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). For this reason the course has been jointly organised with the UNEP Risoe Centre on Energy,
Climate and Sustainable Development (URC).

The aim of the course is to develop participants’ skills in writing fundable proposals in the field of energy, environment and climate change with particular focus on CDMs. In this way, the participants can contribute to the sustainable development of their countries.
