Page of Sanu Kaji Shrestha[top] [end]ProfileSanu Kaji is a retired official of the World Bank in Nepal.He worked in the Bank from 1981 to 2001 as disbursement officer. He graduated in Economics from the Tribhuvan University. Since 1995 to 2001, renewable energy technologies became his hobby which led him in designing, developing and demonstrating solar cooking technologies in Nepal. After the retirement from the Bank in 2001, he extensively traveled Europe and America to gather RE technologies applicable in Nepal. He worked with Barbara Kerr in Arizona and Allart Ligtenberg in San Jose, California. He was intern in Real Goods Solar Living Center, Hopland. He worked as a guest researcher at the Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in Hurup Thy, Denmark and was also intern at INFORSE Secretariat in Hjortshoj, Denmark. In 2002, he established a non-profit organization, Foundation for Sustainable Technologies (FoST) and widely disseminating easily adaptable sustainable technologies to improve quality of life in the rural communities in Nepal.
