My name is Ellie and i am currently working for Blue Ventures to manage a series of new carbon offsetting projects in SW Madagascar.

Blue Ventures (BV) is an award winning not-for-profit organisation dedicated to facilitating projects and expeditions that enhance global marine conservation and research. See www.blueventures.org.

The first of BV's offsetting projects will start up this year (2007) is to assess the potential of a range of energy efficient stoves in the town of Andavadoaka, where BV is currently working on marine conservation projects. The stoves would be a favourable mechanism to reduce deforestation, help to protect the coral reef environment and offset all our volunteers and staff's carbon emissions from travel to the site.

My own expertise is in climate change policy and renewable energy strategy, having an MSc from Oxford University's Environmental Change and management masters, and working for the environmental consultancy Enviros.

I am a member of HEDON in order to find possible collaborators for this new project in Madagascar.
