[top] [end]Who am I

I work for ClimateCare (within JPMorgan's Enivironmental Markets division) in the UK to develop and fund pro-poor projects which mitigate global warming. Previously I worked on renewable energies and rural development in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Africa, elsewhere, with an emphasis on small-scale hydros, local manufacture, and solar PV for off-grid areas. I lived for 7 years in Laos helping the government to make good use of World Bank loans for off-grid electrification through solar and hydro installations, as well as mini-grids; this involved development of credit finance systems for provincial companies to act as providers of solar pv and village hydro. I have provided consulting inputs to similar programs in many countries, including Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cameroon, and so on.

With ClimateCare, I have been working in South America, Africa, and Asia on improved cook-stove programs, togther with inputs into a wider range of emission reductions projects such as biogas, efficient lighting, solar water heating, waste cooking oil bio-fuel, treadle pumps. To establish large scale improved cook-stove programs as carbon projects with Gold Standard accreditation, I submitted a methodology which was approved by the GS in May 2008.
