TLE NAFA Promotion of Solar Cookers in Burkina Faso[top] [end]Our objectifsTLE NAFA means in the Dioula language: the advantages of the sun. TLE NAFA is a provincial association located in Bobo Dioulasso, the second town of Brkina Faso, situated in the South-west of the country.It was created in 2004 by some individuals who were concerned about the lack of solar energy activities in this town. The general objectives of TLE NAFA are the struggle against deforestation and the promotion of solar energy. Specifically we promote solar cookers and other devices that reduce the consumption of wood and charcoal. In Burkina Faso we work together with associations that are active in the same field:
[top] [end]Our activitiesIn spring and automn 2005 we executed two projects with 35 solar cookers of the Papillon type that were constructed in Ouagadougou and assembled in Bobo Dioulasso. The cookers were sold on credit as well as – optionally - a thermos basket and a gas equipment The cookers were subsidized by 20 % and costed 80 000 FCFA (120 €) In our organisation only the monitor (animatrice) gets paid for her work. The other members are volonteers. From the money the clients pay back we buy new solar cookers. In automn 2006 after the rainy season we´ll be able to sell another 15 cookers on credit.We are looking for further financial means to continue and enlarge our activities. She has been working as a monitor (animatrice) of solar cookers since 1994 when APEES introduced the solarcookers of the SC 14 type in Bobo Dioulasso. She is doing solar cooker demonstrations and organizes the sale on credit and the transport of the solar cookers. She is also doing the training in the different families and the after sale service and collecting the installments. She gets paid for her work. Mail: toebassita@...
