Domestic Energy Project, Dodoma. Teaches women how to make and use heat retention cookers and mud stoves with chimneys. Some HRCs are made of mud and straw and are attached to the stoves. Women save time and energy and inhale less smoke. Some are able to engage in income generating activities as a result, and our partners assist this with advice and small loans. Our partners are getting people to plant trees suitable for harvesting for firewood as well as their products and teaching people how to look after them. Dilys Beaumont 11 September 2004
