Nottingham Trent University - Micro-hydro group

The micro-hydro research group at Nottingham Trent University was active in developing low-cost solutions for rural electrification using micro and pico hydro over a number of years. A project funded by the Leverhulme Trust to work with Soluciones Practicas in Peru to develop a low-cost propeller turbine for low-head sites ran from 2004-7. Previous work, funded by UK DfID and EU developed pico hydro capability particularly in South Asia and Kenya. Dr Arthur Williams, the last active member of this group has now transferred to the University of Nottingham, but the website address below is still live and will be updated in late 2007.
