Malawi Bureau of Standards, Malawi

Malawi Bureau of Standards is a statutory organisation established by an Act of Parliament chap: 51:02 in 1972. The Malawi Bureau of Standards is charged with the promulgation of national standards with a view of helping local industry to complete effectively in world markets. Its work in standards, testing, quality assurance and export guidance is geared to enable local companies to meet quality needs of buyers at home and abroad.

The mission of the Malawi Bureau of Standards is to contribute, by promoting quality and standardisation towards the strengthening of the economy of Malawi and towards enhancing the quality of life of all its people.

The business of the Malawi Bureau of Standards include: Standards preparation; Certification services; Technical information; Technical services; Trade metrology Services; Industrial Research and Consultancy; Quality System Certification and International Liaisons.
