The Department of Minerals and Energy is a government department headed by the Minister of Minerals and Energy Ms Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. The administrative head is the Director General Adv. Sandile Nogxina. The DME's budget is determined by the National Budget, in the last financial year this figure was R1.8 billion ($270 million)
