Count Rumford on stoves and cooking methods

An interesting book by Count Rumford was published 200 year ago. You would never know it’s content by the title of "Essays, Political, Economical, and Philosophical". The content of the book will be of interest to all who work in the field of stoves and cooking methods. The book contains descriptions of Count Rumford’s research on Kitchen Fire-places (stoves), Roasting Meat, Small Iron Ovens, Boilers and Stew-pots, Cooking in Steam, Portable Fire-places, Chimney Fire-place, etc. It is surprising to see many of the techniques used today included in his ideas about stoves and the way they should operate.
