Offers match funds ("Challenge Funds") to private sector-led project proposals that meet objectives of the DFID's strategy to reduce poverty in developing countries. These objectives include the provision of clean technologies to the poor in rural areas of the developing world. DFID's Business Partnerships Unit is developing a number of funding opportunities that companies can apply for.

In the first instance, proposals should include an outline of the objectives and key outputs of the project. Proposals should also include information about the financial and other resources expected from each of the project partners, the role of each of the partners and an outline budget.
