Dread And Works Enterprise Zambia has embarked on a mission of installation of a demo - biogas digester in Lilanda compound. This will be the first biogas digester to be installed at a household by D&W

The fixed dome digester will be about four cubic meters, will be connected to a flashing toilet and externally be fed with cow dung from a near by meat processing company. The digester is expected to help this household from the pain of digging pit-latrines around a very limited space. Lilanda is one of the many compounds in Lusaka with high population density, poor sanitation and erratic electricity supply.

The installation of the digester is fully sponsored by the house owner and Dread And Works Enterprise Zambia is providing technical support as part of the New African Initiative for promotion biogas in Africa.
