The ETC Foundation is inviting applications for the position of Programme Officer within the Netherlands Climate Assistance Programme. Application Deadline 30th April 2007!

ETC is inviting applications for the position of Programme Officer for the Netherlands Climate Assistance Programme from candidates who have:

  • A Masters degree
  • Experience in development cooperation/ international development/ poverty alleviation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (French and Spanish would be an advantage)
This is a part-time position (3 days per week) until 1 July 2008 based at ETC in Leusden, Netherlands. For details see: www.etc-international.org

NCAP -- GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Netherlands Climate Assistance Programme is managed by ETC on behalf of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For details see: www.nlcap.net

NCAP has the following aims:
  • Assist participating developing countries to prepare, formulate, implement, and evaluate their policy in relation to climate change.
  • Raise awareness of the problem of climate change in developing countries.
  • Increase the involvement of policy makers, scientists, and 'broad layers' of the population in the climate change debate in developing countries.
  • Promote exchange of experiences between developing countries on climate issues.
  • Coordinate effectively between NCAP and similar international initiatives.

NCAP PROGRAMME OFFICER -- CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Under the supervision of the programme manager:
  • Maintain the programme database (based on dotProject) and the programme website (based on TYPO3). Training in dotProject and TYPO3 will be provided.
  • Be first point of contact on administrative issues for external consultants
  • Be first point of contact on administrative issues for country partners
  • Assist in the organization of various meetings
Suitable remuneration will be offered. Application deadline is 30th April 2007
