With this Newsletter, the AFGEI (The Afghan-French-German Energy Initiative) intends to spread information about its activities and general developments in the energy sector in Afghanistan

Dear Readers,

This is the first issue of the AFGEI Energy Newsletter. With this Newsletter, the AFGEI (The Afghan French German Energy Initiative) intends to spread information about its activities and general developments in the energy sector in Afghanistan. We would like to contribute to a fruitful discussion about the reconstruction of the Afghan energy supply for urban and rural areas, with a focus on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

The Newsletter will come in tri- monthly and will comprise articles of the executing agencies of the three governments of Afghanistan, France and Germany, namely the Department of Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) as the leading authority, the French non-governmental GERES Group, as well as the two German implementing agencies GTZ and DED.

The main objective of this newsletter is to foster coordination and cooperation in the field of sustainable energy supply and energy efficiency in Afghanistan between governmental and non-governmental, bilateral and multilateral organisations and the private sector.

To contribute in doing so, we kindly ask you to forward this Newsletter in your organisation among your colleagues and everyone who could be interested in this matter. Moreover, the newsletter is designed printer-friendly, so please feel free to hand out hard copies as well.
