Low Cost Solar PV

We have developed a low cost technique for assembling small pv panels that can be used to power radios, LEDs, etc. The materials to power a small radio cost less than $1!

So there is now an affordable alternative to dry cells, oil lamps, etc. This technique is ideal for small entrepreneurs to start a business supplying solar-converted torches, cassettes and even charge lead-acid batteries.

We have unpaid volunteers in several overseas countries. Some have been dedicated for years offering this technique to local NGOs and individuals.

At last we have the support of the UNDP in Mongolia where this technique will be used to help camel herders. Other projects have started in the Kibera township (Nairobi, Kenya) Tanzania and Haiti plus others.

More can be found at our website http://biodesign.webeden.co.uk

We send out small panel samples, etc on receipt of a postal address. Our email is diysolar@...

Below is a photo of some happy users in Sierra Leone of a DIY Solar panel they have assembled so they will no longer be forced to buy expensive dry cells.
