Shell Foundation projects in Guatemala

The Shell Foundation is supporting an improved stove project in Guatemala based on the HELPS buisness model for stove production and distribution.

  • Project co-ordinator: HELPS International
  • Project goals: This pilot programme will install a minimum of 3,000 stoves in Mayan communities in Guatemala, benefiting not only the families (average size of 6 people) but also the communities, by reducing smoke expelled into villages and by reducing deforestation. It also helps provide employment for local people.
  • Duration: 36 Months
